Bali State Of Mind

Whew, after about 36 hours of traveling we finally made it to Bali! This will be home for the next 30 days with my husband. I love traveling but I’m not of those “enjoy the journey” kind of people. My friend Megan is but me, not at all. I get very grumpy traveling because it pushes me out of my comfort zone, I get sweaty, feel gross and in the past had some pretty messed up things happen to me while traveling...I’ve been robbed and went to the ER but those stories are for another time.

Plus, I don’t realize how American (slash half Canadian - I have dual citizenship….lucky me) I’m till I get out on a travel adventure.

Last night while driving from the airport to the hotel the culture shock began.

Cars everywhere, flocks of scooters pushing, smelly pollution, rush hour traffic, sharp turns to make your stomach turn, tiny roads that only fit a Corolla, movement and loud noises the whole time.

During the longest 2-hour car ride it begun to be TOO MUCH and my anxiety kicked in. I even started to tap my heart to release the tension.

Breathe Steph, Breathe. You’re almost there. Don’t lose your shit.

Finally, we got to our hotel.

After a hot shower, 90-minutes massages and the best meal for under $10 bucks, I’m back.

You always hear the cliche  “Enjoy the Journey” but deep down you wanted it like yesterday.

You wanted the new job last month.

You wanted the client to sign their contract.

You wanted the man to call last night.

You wanted the money to come through your account.

You wanted to make that goal happen last quarter.

You wanted to create the amazing thing last year.

I get it. I’m with you. I want want want and want some more. You want want want and want some more.

I’m not going to get all zen barbie on you but it’s okay to want. It means you have direction, desire and goals.

So I’m not going to give you any advice on “honor the journey” or “Everything takes time” I’m just here to say I’m with ya, sista. I’m here holding a special place for all your desires, wants and wishes.

My husband and I will both be running our businesses while we are here so it’s more of a “living” trip than a vacation. Half work, half play. Which can be a bit more challenging but I’m up for it.
He has a software company and does branding consulting. I do business coaching and online marketing consulting for coaches.

My coaching business has been growing and it’ beautiful to see the path unfold. To gain clarity on what's my flavor is, which is a mixture of business strategy infused with spiritual coaching. My favorite thing in the world is helping women unlock their potential and create a way to make their dreams a reality.

I've done that for myself in the last 2 years and now know it's an art + science.

Okay, I couldn’t resist.

My only advice for you love is to take it one step at a time. You can’t do it all. You won’t be able to do it all. But let’s create the stuff you want to create, okay love.

Bye for now.
